Theatre du Pif's new creation is a surrealistic view of a modern Asian city seen through the eyes of an African elephant. The ordinary and everyday lives of three urban inhabitants are stripped bare to reveal extraordinary stories that are tender, brutal, funny and which highlight modern man's perseverance and yearning for harmony within an increasingly chaotic world.
This unique, cross-cultural collaboration between six artists from Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and the UK combines Asian and European theatre and performance skills with the expressionistic musicality of renowned Korean musician Sung Ki-wan. Japanese dancer Makoto Matsushima and celebrated Hong Kong actor Lee Chun-chow also join with Theatre du Pif to create this dynamic new production which fuses music, dance and story-telling.
