LEGENDS OF SHANGHAI.TOKYO.NEW YORK RELOADED
Two boundary-breaking Chinese-American musicians fuse sounds from then and now on a riveting, cross-cultural journey taking in hip hop, jazz and electronica.
New York-based Chinese-American musicians Dana Leong and Dave Liang have individually established their commanding presence within the North American music scene in recent years, earning a sterling reputation for their postmodern eclecticism where east meets west and the old and new ignite into pioneering musical endeavours.
Here, the two innovative musical stars team up for the first time for a scintillating journey that travels from Shanghai to Tokyo and over to New York. Roaming between these three great cultural metropolises closest to their roots, Leong and Liang respond to today's digital age by retelling legends of the cities through animation, live music and narration. The result is a refreshingly original encounter with cross-cultural fusion and multimedia mash-up. Hong Kong's own cutting-edge culture enthusiast Ghost Style and hip hop trendsetter M.I.N.D. Studio add to the startling creativity.
