Selections from Hear the World – DADAWA's Chinese Ethnic Music Collection Tour

"Show the World – Culture-Based Development Goodwill Action for Ethnic Minorities" is a joint project between the United Nations Development Programme and the famous music artist, Zhu Zheqin, also known as Dadawa. In April, 2009, Dadawa went on field visits to Guizhou, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Tibet and Xinjiang, covering 20 000 km and collecting more than 1 000 folk songs and pieces of ethnic music. The experience also inspired her in launching the concert "Hear the World.DADAWA" in Concert 2010.HK. China's Travel Channel followed Dadawa and her Goodwill Action team throughout the three-month-long tour, culminating in the 17-episode series Hear the World - DADAWA's Chinese Ethnic Music Collection Tour. Some of the episodes are hand-picked for showing at the New Vision Arts Festival. This would be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the ethnic minority groups of China - their cultural roots, their exuberant and highly contagious music, as well as Dadawa's sources of inspiration for her unique brand of music.
