Let the beat find YOU in one

Organised by On & On Theatre Workshop and Mobius Strip Theatre of Taiwan

The "neutral state" is a highly focused and relaxed frame
of mind that enables actors to release their inhibitions.
These four challenging workshop sessions explore this
state, employing breathing techniques, drumming and
Tibetan singing bowls. Participants will be encouraged to
examine mind and body to attain "oneness", as well as to
expand their sense of social interaction in addition to the
visual and verbal. Time to suspend logic temporarily and
explore the world of the senses!

Perceivable Bodies – Innovative Video Technologies and VMF Theatre Workshop

Organised by: phase7 performing.arts

In collaboration with HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity

This one-day workshop introduces the many artistic uses of video motion-sensing technologies. It includes ways of developing computer-aided interactive environments for sound and video installations as well as scenographic methods for performance venues. The Visual Music Facilities Theatre project is also explained. In this project, audience and singers are positioned in two separate circles around the orchestra and conductor, thus allowing music and vocals to be appreciated individually.

The creation of virtual environments is based on Frieder Weiss’camera motion-tracking systems “Eyecon” and “Kalypso”. Eyecon links physical movement spaces with computer-generated sound environments. The Kalypso software allows stunning visual effects based on body outlines. Works realised through these techniques will be presented at the workshop. Participants will also have the opportunity to create their own installations and learn how to use the two systems, together with applications such as Isadora, Flash, and Max/MSP
