Faust auf dem Klosett - Epic Toilet Opera

Inspired by Goethe's Faust
In Goethe's Faust, 14-year-old Margareta serves as the innocent victim of manipulation and desire, with the young girl's virginity, faith, love and family destroyed by Faust during his adventures with Mephistopheles. This is the inspiration for Faust auf dem Klosett, which creates a contemporary Margareta and mirrors the story of the classic character in a theatrical poem that parodies the world as a toilet.
Jim Chim and Olivia Yan, the renowned artistic directors of Theatre Ensemble, will collaborate with funky playwright Mann Chan, all-round dancers / performing artists Abby Chan, Daniel Yeung and alternative musician Chan Wai Fat to play, integrate, and explore opera / singing, poetry / speech, libretto / script, movement / dance and chorus / ensemble. The genre of Faust auf dem Klosett will provide a new interpretation of traditional opera and poetry that merges with theatre.
